Letter to Parents/Carers - 20.10.23
Dear parents, carers and families,
We have had a packed first half-term of the academic year – just this week our Year 7 students have been participating in their adventurous residential at Porthpean, and we have been preparing Year 11 for their first set of mock exams. We have also had celebration assemblies and events across the school for the huge number of merits and rewards earned so far! Please see below for some key information for after half-term. Please do not hesitate to contact the school at enquiries@liskeard.net if you have any questions or queries.
GCSE Exam results
Following the national process of checking and establishing results across all schools, we are delighted to have now received confirmation of our excellent exam results! For the first time in recent years, the majority of GCSE students have made better than average progress compared to their peers across the country. This is a brilliant achievement by students and staff. We are also very proud that we are now amongst the higher performing group of secondary schools in Cornwall. I am especially proud that students with SEND and other challenges in their learning are making better progress too. There is always more to do to ensure that every student has an entitlement to academic excellence with inclusivity for all, however there are real successes to celebrate along the way.
