Headteacher Letter to Parents/Carers - 11.12.23
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
I am writing to update you on a change to our food service in school today which your child may have experienced. After receiving a report of vermin on site this morning, we worked closely with our catering contractor and took a number of immediate actions. These involved additional cleaning and control measures, the temporary closure of a kitchen and an external professional assessment of the site.
We are so proud of how well students managed a change to normal arrangements, and it was a pleasure to talk to so many polite, considerate and patient students who had a slightly longer wait than usual.
We have a range of stringent procedures in place to uphold the highest standards of hygiene on the school site. Following these actions and further investigation, we are expecting normal service to resume tomorrow. The highest standards of health and safety are a priority for us, and we continue to work closely with our students, specialist staff and professional agencies to keep the site tidy, clean and safe.
I would like to thank our students who are brilliant at ensuring that litter is not dropped in school – at this time of year when more food wrappers than normal might be circulating, it is especially important for students to help us keep the site free of litter and waste food.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions.
Yours faithfully
Dan Wendon
